A Little Catch Up
Post surgery update, Puerto Rico adventures, London study abroad, and a romantic getaway.
Welcome back to another edition of The Weekly Wow! I hope this newsletter finds you well. This week has been a rollercoaster of adventures and experiences, and I can't wait to share the highlights with you.
1. Recap of the Week:
I hope this message finds you well! It's been quite a while since I last reached out, and I apologize for the prolonged silence. The past 11 weeks have been a whirlwind of activity, primarily due to my breast explant surgery on January 26. Since then, both my life and my family's routines have been considerably hectic.
However, I'm pleased to report that I'm feeling much better post-surgery and am steadily on the path to recovery. My primary goal now is to restore balance to our lives and resume our regular interactions.
For those interested in my surgical journey and experiences, I've detailed them further here: My Decision to Remove My Breast Implants and What To Expect After Breast Explant Surgery: My Journey.
2. Work Chronicles:
This past week was highly productive as I successfully wrote a blog post about my favorite designer handbag and generated content focusing on my recent trip to Puerto Rico, a topic I'll delve into shortly. Additionally, I highlighted a makeup and skincare brand. Speaking of the makeup brand, my Reel on my account garnered the highest number of views, and on the brand’s side, the Reel has now amassed over 153K views!
3. Sweat Session Diary:
Since returning from Puerto Rico late Monday night of last week, I've been feeling under the weather. The combination of jet lag and sleep deprivation has really taken a toll on my health. Today, I decided to prioritize self-care and took it easy. I indulged in a much-needed nap, lulled to sleep by the soothing sound of rain and distant thunder.
4. Family Matters:
We've experienced numerous cherished moments this month. Firstly, our middle child, Chloe, embarked on a week-long journey to Utah to compete in BYU’s National Ballroom Competition. Her performance was outstanding, and her formation team secured 2nd place in the Silver bracket. Simultaneously, our eldest daughter, Emi, began her study abroad program in London with Saddleback College. It's surreal to see her venture out on her own; she'll be immersed in literature studies at Oxford University for the next 9 weeks.
In the midst of these events, my husband embarked on a work trip to Florida, while Elijah and I had an exhilarating time in Puerto Rico for the nationals volleyball competition. Although his team didn't clinch the victory, placing in the Gold bracket made for an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
Adding to the excitement, my husband Albert surprised me with a delightful trip to the historic Mission Inn Hotel and Spa in Riverside, CA, creating a romantic getaway to celebrate my birthday. It's safe to say this month has been filled to the brim with memorable adventures. Oh, and let's not forget, this month marks my birthday as well.
5. Behind the Scenes of Content Creation:
This week, I've had some exciting collaborations with clothing and shoe brands, as well as makeup brands. My aim is to produce at least two YouTube videos for a makeup brand and also share my surgery experience, believing it will provide valuable insight for many women. I'm striving to maintain consistency in creating and sharing content across all my platforms, but it's a juggling act with so much on my plate! While it's incredibly fulfilling, it can also be overwhelming at times, given the limitations of time and there are so many balls to juggle.
6. Shopaholic Diaries:
I was thrilled when Albert surprised me with a shopping spree right after we checked out of the hotel. He remembered that I mentioned Nordstrom’s Clear the Rack Sale and found a Rack nearby. I had a blast picking out so many fantastic items, including dresses, tanks, pants, shorts, and jewelry. Additionally, I bought a new checked luggage bag, but after reading poor reviews mentioning cracks, I've decided to return it. Instead, I've made a purchase on Amazon for a 3-piece set and I'm eagerly looking forward to receiving it, especially with our upcoming trips on the horizon.
7. Community Spotlight:
Your presence here on my Substack means the world to me. I thoroughly enjoy reading all the comments across my social media platforms and make it a priority to respond to each one. Building a community is a cornerstone of my work, and I deeply value the connections we've established.
8. What's Coming Next Week:
My initial goal was to get into shape for Elijah’s trip to Puerto Rico, but unfortunately, due to my recent surgery and the necessary recovery time, I wasn't able to achieve it. However, now that I have the doctor’s clearance, I've decided to hop back on the Keto wagon. My new aim is to attain peak physical condition for Elijah’s upcoming national volleyball tournament in Florida in June. Game on!
